Workshop Description:

This training provides a understanding of how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma can affect a student’s learning abilities. The topics covered include the differentiation between the Learning Brain and the Survival Brain, various stress responses, the trauma continuum, and effective strategies to assist students in regulating their emotions and fostering an open mindset for optimal learning.

Objectives:

  • Explore Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Consider the impact of ACEs on the brain
  • Review Trauma-Informed Principles

Expectations:

This one-hour training includes three modules consisting of:

  • Recorded lecture
  • Readings and other materials
  • Self-Assessments

Training Completion:

This course is not graded with a letter or number grade, however, in order to receive the certificate of completion, you must participate in and complete all of the required assignments prior to the closing of the course.
